OMAR ROBLEDO graduated in the spring of 2019 from Cal State University East Bay in Hayward with a major in Criminal Justice and a minor in Sociology and Investigative Work. He currently is employed by Chase Bank as an Associate Banker and has an internship with the Alameda County Public Defenders. We are so proud of Omar’s accomplishments since his attendance in John’s fifth grade class of 2005-06!
SCHOLARSHIP UPDATES
D'VON SANTOS has transferred from Berkeley City College to the College of Alameda. He works as a driver for Door Dash. D’Von’s long- range goal is to attend Cal Berkeley or Davis and study Economics.
MARY PAREDES is a senior at UC Davis, majoring in Global Disease with a minor in Education. She carried twenty-one units this fall, working part-time and volunteering in the UCD Veterinary School. Cathy is currently working on a research project investigating the spread and containment of infectious diseases. She will graduate in May 2020.
SOPHIA ROBLEDO is a Psychology major at Sacramento State University. She is currently studying for the test for Nursing School with plans to apply in fall of 2020. She is volunteering at Sutter Hospital in Sacramento. Sophia hopes to graduate in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
BRENDA ROBLEDO is a senior at Cal Berkeley, majoring in Biology with an emphasis in Human Genetics and a minor in Korean. She will graduate in May 2020. She currently has thirteen units, works thirty hours per week and volunteers as a translator for Hispanic families seeking medical help at a local clinic. She is studying for the medical school exam, which she hopes to take in the fall of 2020.
DULCE CRUZ graduated from St. Mary’s College in Moraga in the spring of 2019 with an Art Practice major. She is currently working full time for Pacific Worker’s Compensation in Oakland. She is developing her interest in art through photography. We are proud of all she has done since she was in John’s fifth grade class in 2007-08!
